Mean Well, a global leader in power supplies, has just announced the release of a new series of boxed DC UPS chargers aimed at the security and fire protection sectors. In addition to the existing PSC, DRC, DRS, SCP, and AD series, the company has introduced the new boxed LAD family, thus meeting power needs that were previously uncovered, reaching up to 600W.
By doing so, the new products meet the ever-increasing market demands for secure, reliable, certified, and cost-effective devices.
The entire series features a 1U closed design and is available in two main versions, a basic one (LAD-120/240/360/600) and one with a UART communication module (LAD-360/600xU). The primary channel of both models can be used to power the load, while the auxiliary output CH2 can charge batteries with UPS function.
All models are equipped with various protections (short circuit / OLP / OVP / OTP / BAT, UVP / BAT, reverse polarity) and are approved according to safety certifications (CB / UL / RCM / CE / UKCA / EAC), in line with GB17945 and GB4717 (only for the UART version).
This series is perfect for security systems, fire protection, emergency lighting, access control alarms, computer rooms and peripherals, central monitoring, and many other applications such as UPS.
Here is a brief comparison table between the new LAD series and the previous and now obsolete AD.
