Boxed power supplies are used in a wide range of industrial sectors, including electrical equipment or control systems.
In specific sectors, power supply must be able to provide a higher starting power for inductive loads such as motors or electronic controls.
For this reason, Mean Well has developed the new series LRS-100/200/350/600 N2, which offers customers a power supply unit capable of handling instantaneous consumption of 200% of peak power (with a duty cycle below 35%) without increasing the rated power, thus helping to solve application problems and reduce overall costs.
The main difference between the new series LRS-100/200/350/600 N2 and the previous LRS series is the ability to provide an instantaneous 200% peak power for a maximum of 5 seconds, which reduces issues when matching with various high current loads during startup.
Customers no longer need to purchase power supplies with a higher rated power, but can simply opt for power supplies with a lower rated power, combined with increased peak power.
This way it is possible to reduce not only the purchase cost of the power supply, but also solve any application problems.
The output voltages provided are 12V/24V/36V/48V, commonly used in industrial equipment.
The other mechanical dimensions are the same as the previous LRS series, making replacement easier for customers.
In addition to the UL/EN 62386-1 certification, the LRS-N2 series is also compliant with the EN 61558-1 OVC III standards for industrial power supplies.
In general, products with OVC III design are more suitable for industrial equipment because they can be directly connected from the distribution box, saving the cost of using an additional isolation transformer.
At the same time, the series is also doubly certified to help customers shorten the certification process and can be used with various electronic or mechanical equipment, such as robotic arms, motor controls, coffee machines, emergency lighting systems, etc.
