Instructions for the Disposal of Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
The following instructions are intended for end users of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). Please consider these important pieces of information for proper waste management and personal safety.
Instructions for the Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Meaning of the Symbol according to Annex III of Legislative Decree 49/2014:
Owners of discarded electrical and electronic equipment must collect them separately from undifferentiated urban waste. EEE should not be disposed of as undifferentiated urban waste and should not be thrown into domestic waste. It is necessary to collect this equipment separately and dispose of it through local collection and withdrawal systems.
In addition, the owners of discarded equipment must remove non-integrated batteries and accumulators before delivering the equipment to a collection point.
This last provision does not apply if the equipment, in accordance with Article 14, paragraph 5, of Legislative Decree 49/2014, is separated from other waste to be prepared for reuse. The equipment to be collected separately is marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage can, as indicated in Annex III of Legislative Decree 49/2014:
Delivery Methods for Discarded Equipment:
Owners of discarded equipment can deliver them to the collection points set up by local authorities to ensure proper management and disposal. In some cases, it is possible to deliver the equipment for their reuse. For further details, consult the collection center or the specific withdrawal service.
